Choir School Moves to
Saints Andrew and Matthew
The Cathedral Choir School of Delaware and the Cathedral Church of Saint John have been so much a part of each other's life and work that it is difficult to visualize them no longer together and engaged in mission and ministry in the Brandywine Village. Yet, as difficult as that may be, it is a reality, because come the end of July of this year, the corner of Concord and Market will no longer be home for the Choir School and the congregation of Saint John's. I do not rejoice in that, but I do give thanks that the Choir School has found a new home at the Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew.
Saints Andrew and Matthew and the Cathedral Church of Saint John share many of the same values including deep-rooted concern for urban ministry. Both also have an appreciatioin and commitent to music in worship and liturgy. Therefore, I applaud the leadership of the Choir School and of the rector and lay leadership of Saints Andrew and Matthew for making this decision and assuring the continuation of the fine tradition of the Choir School in its service to children and young people.
